Erythromycin 500 mg

Eritromisina including makrolida group, works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, are bacteriostatic or bakterisid, depending on the types and levels of bacteria in the blood. Eritromisina effective against gram-positive bacteria such as S. aureus (both of which produce penisillinase or not), group A Streptococcus, Enterococcus, C. diphtheriae and Pneumococcus.

Also effective against gram-negative bacteria such as Neisseria, H. influenzae, B. pertussis, Brucella also against rickets, Treponema and M. pneumoniae. Cross-resistance can occur between different classes of antibiotics makrolida.

Composition:
Each film coated tablet contains eritromisina etilsuksinat, equivalent to 500 mg eritromisina.

Indications:
To prevent upper respiratory tract infections caused by bacteria, especially S. pyogenes (streptococcal group A beta-hemolytic).

Dosage:
Adults: four times a day 250-500 mg

Children - children: day 30-50 mg / kg body weight in 4 divided doses. Giving an empty stomach. For severe infection of 4 grams a day is divided into several doses. For infections due to group A streptococci, therapy must be at least 10 days.
