Benfluorex is anoretic and hypolipidemic agents. Benfluorex can improve glycemic control and reduce insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Indications:
To reduce levels of LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein).
Dosage:
Week 1: 150 mg by mouth (orally), 1 time a day at night.
Week 2: 150 mg by mouth (orally), 2 times a day.
Week 3 & next week: 150 mg by mouth (orally), 3 times daily.
Effect:
Reducing triglyceride absorption in the intestine.
Side Effects:
GI effects (loss of balance, N / V), a state of drowsiness, fatigue.
Special Instructions:
Not recommended for patients with pancreatitis
